What?!: PureGym closes two popular centers in Aalborg

Denmark’s largest fitness chain, PureGym, operates more than 10 centers in Aalborg and the surrounding area, but soon two of them will be closing.

The chain revealed this on its website.

In fact, these are some of PureGym’s most centrally located centers in the city, which are now approaching their last open day.

One is the center at Grønlands Torv, and the other is the center at Vesterbro.

“We are sorry to announce that the center will close permanently on August 31, 2024, which will be the last day of training,” they write on their website.

PureGym changed its name from Fitness World last year.

At the same time, the British company behind the chain invested a large three-digit million amount in renovating the centers around the country over a three-year period.

But such an upgrade will not happen for the centers at Vesterbro and Grønlands Torv, which are closing next month.

The central centers have for years been some of Aalborg’s most popular, but now subscribers will have to look for another center to train in.

PureGym announces on their website, however, that the remaining centers have or will soon get brand new equipment.

It therefore looks like the new funds will be distributed among fewer centers.
