Although the new year is only a few weeks old, we’ve already got a new, ambitious restaurant in town.

On January 5, Norður (pronounced Nordur) opened on Reberbansgade 16.

The very special thing about Nordur is that it is a 100% plant-based restaurant. It is the owners of Wildebeest together with Kolbrún Gunnarsdóttir, founder of the popular food truck VeganDóttir, who are behind the new restaurant.

MyAalborg has of course already stopped by the city’s new eatery to taste the dishes – and there is plenty to look forward to!

A homely and relaxed atmosphere

We visited Nordur on Friday evening, the day after their grand opening.

From the moment we stepped inside Nordur we felt welcome.

The atmosphere is super homely and relaxed in all corners of the restaurant, even though the restaurant was basically full.

Although all the food is 100% plant-based, the menu certainly doesn’t feel limited – on the contrary.

Regardless of whether you’re into the juicy, the crispy, the spicy or the snack, you’ll find it on Nordur’s menu.

On the evening menu you will find no less than six different burgers, three delicious salads, hearty warm dishes, delicious side orders and six different dips, all made from scratch.

The food is characterized by the fact that there should be something for everyone, regardless of who you are, and we love that.

Also, we have to give a shoutout to their pea-based nuggets; it was as if they were sent from plant heaven! And when they were dipped in the Icelandic “kokteilsósa” there wasn’t a dry eye…

You can follow Nordur on InstagramFacebook or book a table here.
