Big scoop: Nibe Festival reveals this year’s headliner

by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

Another international headliner is now confirmed for Nibe Festival 2024, which will take place in the beautiful Skalskov from July 3rd to July 6th.

It will be the band’s only Danish concert of the summer.

“We are pulling out all the stops as we can finally announce that Grammy-winning The Chainsmokers will headline our festival on Wednesday, July 3rd,” festival spokesman Peter Møller Madsen says.

Setting new standards

With massive hits like “Closer” featuring Halsey, “Paris,” “Something Just Like This” featuring Chris Martin/Coldplay, and “Don’t Let Me Down,” The Chainsmokers have set new standards in the international music scene.

They have bridged genres such as pop, indie, electronic, alternative, and rock with tremendous success.

“The Chainsmokers’ successful playful exploration of genres means that the duo appeals to a very broad audience.

Whether you’re a 16-year-old newcomer to Nibe or belong to the subsequent two, three, or even four decades age-wise, their many hits and The Chainsmokers’ attitude resonate with our always party-focused festival audience,” Peter Møller Madsen continues.

A festival spectacle awaits

Not only do they have many big hits, with “Closer” topping nearly 2.8 billion streams on Spotify, but Drew Taggart and Alex Pall are also a 110% guarantee for a historic midnight party in Skalskoven.

“What we’re going to see during The Chainsmokers’ concert will be SO spectacular.

An amazing and atmospheric show. The many hits will be wrapped in an ‘orgy’ of lasers, pyrotechnics, and an immersive LED production. Our beautiful forest will be illuminated in every way Wednesday night,” Peter Møller Madsen adds.

Heart in the right place

An important side benefit of signing The Chainsmokers is also that Taggart and Pall have used their immense popularity to make a difference for others – including vulnerable and disadvantaged children.

“It just taps so well into the spirit and purpose that Nibe and the Danish ‘festival landscape’ are built around, and it is by no means insignificant,” festival spokesman Peter Møller Madsen concludes.

The following names have been announced

Out of nearly 100 names set to perform, the following have currently been announced: The Chainsmokers (US), James Blunt (UK), Ronan Keating (IRL), Ukendt Kunstner, Rasmus Seebach, Suspekt, Benjamin Hav & Familien, D-A-D, Artigeardit x Lamin, Tim Christensen, Jonah Blacksmith, KrebsFalch, Gobs, Benny Jamz, Guldimund, Saint Clara, Malte Ebert, Zar Paulo, Pil, Angående Mig, and Pauline.

However, it is still possible to buy day tickets for Wednesday, which will include performances by The Chainsmokers, James Blunt, and Suspekt, among others, as well as for Thursday, which will feature Ukendt Kunstner and Ronan Keating, among others.
