Next Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent and before we know it, we’re in the midst of December.

So it’s definitely not too early to get into the Christmas spirit.

If you want to be infected with the magic of the season, you should go visit one of the many different Christmas markets in and around Aalborg.

There are the obvious must-sees and those that may not gain the same kind of attention.

That is why we’ll guide you to the different markets here.

The big Christmas market in Aalborg City

With its placement on both Gammeltorv and Nytorv, Aalborg’s biggest Christmas market is ready with more new, exciting stalls this year.

The market opened last Friday, and it’s already been warmly welcomed among locals.

Some of the new stalls are Ma Petite France, Gløggkompagniet & Skotlander, Krystalhulen, and Café På Fjorden – among others.

The Fudge Factory is ready on Nytorv.

Christmas at the Zoo

It’s one of the year’s highlights when Aalborg Zoo opens its doors to Christmas at the Zoo.

Last year the Christmas concept was subjected to a lot of different restrictions due to Corona but this year they’re turning up intimacy, love, and romance.

Our local heroes have a central placement in the park, and on the Christmas square, you’ll be able to experience the taste of North Jutland where you can meet passionate souls and dedicated gastronomes from all over the region. They’ll present loads of locally produced products and inspiration for the Christmas table, exciting drinks, and unique gift ideas.

Aalborg Streetfood

Three weekends in December, Aalborg Streetfood will be turning their building into a Christmas wonderland.

Look forward to Christmas stalls, live music, treasure hunts, a Christmas tree shop, Christmas-inspired food in the many food stalls, crafts and arts, wine market, Christmas wishes for Santa, stalls with Danish donuts, and other goodies.

It premiers Saturday, December 4, and will run every weekend until Sunday, December 19.

It takes place this coming weekend from Friday, November 26 to Sunday, November 28.

Five homeowners are opening their homes, barns, and stables to visitors. During the tour, you’ll walk from house to house where you’ll be able to buy small servings of food and drink.
