Green community on the way: Get a city garden in Vestbyen
Right now, Vor Frelsers church is closed. However, despite the closure, there is some good news growing.
Vestbyen was once a working-class neighborhood and is today home to many raw yet charming apartments. Unfortunately, the area also happens to be a district with the fewest gardens.
Vor Frelsers church wants to change the district by adding some more green to the community. Therefore, the church has decided to transform their lonely lawn into a public garden in front of their premises.
Free to loan in 2021
The ambition is to create a green urban space with 15 plant and or herb boxes with beautiful surroundings.
The church hopes to establish a local community and meeting place that will nurture plant life and relationships in the area.

In addition, the public garden will represent an essential step towards making Aalborg a greener place to live.
The city garden is for those living in Vestbyen or near Vor Frelsers church. This year, the rent is for free. Furthermore, the gardens should be ready by June 12, 2021. Afterward, the price will be DKK 200 for annual rent.
In the future, a season will last from March 1 to October 31.
When the weather gets cold, the plan is to use the plant boxes for displaying small Christmas trees or other greenery for a cozy atmosphere in front of the church and throughout Christmas and Winter.
