Show, movie, and red carpet: Join the big Oscar Night in Aalborg

by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

“And the Oscar goes to…”

If you don’t have the talent, the money, or the skills to attend the annual Hollywood Oscar show, fear not.

Because here in Aalborg, you can – almost – get the real deal with all the pomp and circumstance and plenty of cinematic artistry when Nordisk Film Biografer in Kennedy invites you again this year to a huge Oscar party.

It’s Sunday, March 10th, when Oscar Night 2024 kicks off at the cinema.

Ball gown or pajamas?

On Sunday at 20:00, the doors open, and it’s up to you whether you want to come in formal attire or pajamas.

Upon arrival, there will be bubbles and cake for all guests.

From 20:30 to 22:30, it’s time for the screening of the blockbuster “Past Lives,” which is nominated for two Oscars – including Best Film 2024.

“Past Lives” is a modern romantic drama about the deeply connected childhood friends, Nora and Hae Sung.

They were separated when Nora’s family emigrated from South Korea to Canada. Two decades later, they are reunited in New York in a fateful week where they confront concepts like fate, love, and the choices that shape a life.

Coffee and tea ad libitum

After the movie, there will be midnight snacks for everyone in the foyer, before it’s time to spot beautiful dresses and quirky outfits at the pre-show and red carpet between 23:00 and midnight.

At midnight, the show from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood kicks off, and here, you don’t have to worry about how your hair looks – or if your makeup is running down your cheeks when the touching speeches are shown.

Because you’ll be comfortably seated in the darkness of the cinema in the extremely comfortable chairs, while your only concern is staying awake; but help is actually at hand here too.

The cinema will provide coffee and tea throughout the night.

The show is expected to end around 3:00 – 4:00 in the morning, and here, all guests will receive some freshly baked pastries to go.

The price for all the delights including the film, food, coffee/tea, show, and pastries is only 175 DKK per ticket.

You can find ticket info here.
