Spring is here: Fun things to do in North Jutland in March

Spring has arrived in Aalborg, and even though the cold prevails, the sun seems a little warmer. With March making its slow but warming debut, new activities and events are blooming around the entirety of North Jutland.

International House North Denmark has compiled a list of events and activities that are happening throughout the month of March that are accommodating to internationals.

So grab your shoes, sunglasses, and raincoats, because the weather may be varying, but the spring-time fun is beginning!

Events in Aalborg

Makerspace

Every Tuesday and Thursday at Aalborg Main Library (Hovedbiblioteket), you can take part in Makerspace.

This is meant to be a creative room where you can create, learn, and work together, while the library provides space, machines such as sewing machines or 3D printers, and various other materials.

Makerspace is open from 15:00-18:00 and you can find more information here.

Shakespeare’s Macbeth performed by AAUSC

AAU Shakespeare Company is performing the timeless play Macbeth this easter at Det Hem’lige Teater. The play premieres March 23rd, and continues with performances from March 25-29th.

The play is performed entirely in English, and invites you to an evening of drama and tragedy following the main character Macbeth in his tale of unchecked ambition and moral decay.

Inspiration evening on voluntary social work

Are you looking for volunteer work and interested in where you can start?  De Frivilliges Hus is holding an ‘Inspiration Evening’ on March 20th at 17:00-19:00, for all who are interested in volunteer work in Nordjylland.

The Children’s Easter at Streetfood

Aalborg Streetfood have rolled out a long series of events for children and their parents.

The events kick off March 23rd and continue every day until March 31st. The events include everything from facepaint, meeting the clown Happy, easter egg painting, and many other delightful activities.

Markerspace -Vesthimmerland

Every Tuesday at Aars Library, you can take part in Makerspace.

Stone Treasure Hunt in Hirtshals

Hirtshals is inviting you and your family for an easter treasure hunt around town for easter!

The treasure hunt will take you around Hirtshals in search of various painted stones with letters on them.

A phone or tablet with access to Google Maps is required, but other than that, you can join the hunt!

Art & Trade Market in Hirtshals (Kunsthåndværkermarked)

On March 28th and 29th, the Swedish Seamen’s Church in Hirtshals will open its doors to the art & trade market.

At the market you can meet a variety of different creators of various arts and crafts, as well as various foods and coffee.
