Swap n’ trade: Visit Aalborg’s cashless sustainable market

by Ashton Christensen

If you also think spring rhymes with tidying up and getting new items for your wardrobe, cupboard or shelves, mark a big X in your calendar.

Because on April, Sunday the 24th, from 12:00 to 14:00, GRO SELV is hosting a big swapping market in collaboration with Utzon Center.

There will be delicious refreshments and great music during the market, and not least the chance to make a bargain without taking any money out of your pocket.

How the swapping market works

A swapping market is a cashless recycling market where you give what you have and take what you can use. A more sustainable and green concept.

You can bring and swap within the following categories:

  • Clothes
  • Plants, cuttings and pots
  • Seeds (vegetable and flower seeds)
  • Kitchenware
  • Books

“The concept is simple – bring something you want to pass on that is still in good condition. Place it on one of the tables and find something new to take home,” the organizers write.

There will also be an opportunity to get your hands on GRO SELV’s brand new catalogue at the swapping market, which is chock full of inspiration, tools, and DIY guides for aspiring project artists.

Admission to the Utzon Center is free of charge during the event.

GRO SELV is a project community that experiments with making sustainability real, practical and fun through workshops and events. GRO SELV brings people together to develop ideas, share knowledge and experiment with green ideas.

The community is a laboratory for green dreams and initiatives, where young people try out green ideas with their own hands and explore the possibilities of upcycling, recycling and seasonal experiences.
