From salsa to twerking: The best dancing places in Aalborg

The rainy season has just started and most of us can already feel the cold, the rain, and the lack of sunlight.

There are lots of ways to deal with this but one of the best solutions is to start moving! If you’re not a fan of gyms or fitness studios, you can move your body in a more fun way – dancing.

House of Dance

House of Dance is a proper dance school which offers lots of workshops for dancers of all ages. From senior dance and ballet to TikTok classes and contemporary dance, everyone can find a style that fits them.

Kom og dans Aalborg

Are you more of a swing and rock’n’roll fan? Then you’re in luck because Aalborg hosts its own branch of the Kom og Dans organization which focuses on creating a social environment around dance.

What does that mean? That at Kom og Dans you can learn to dance swing and rock’n’roll while having fun and making new friends!

You can sign up either as a couple, or come alone – and if you’re under 30 years old, there is a separate class for the “youth” where you get to dance with people closer to your age.

There are set weekly classes on all levels from complete beginners to experienced dancers and it will cost you 650kr if you’re over 25 years old or 350kr if you’re under 25 years old.

Just Dance Studio

A multicultural dance studio, Just Dance is a place made “for better physical and mental health and to boost emotions and social well-being”.

In line with this noble aim, you can choose from a variety of dance styles – from salsa and samba to afrobeats – to make dancing your happy place.

Latin Salsa Club

Salsa workshops have become a huge hit in big cities and Aalborg isn’t an exception.

Its own Latin Salsa Club is open to everyone, no matter their skill, every Monday from 18.00 and Thursday from 19.00 at Dice N’ Drinks.

There are groups according to levels of skill and after the classes are done, you can stay for a little bit of social dancing and try out your new moves to Latino music.
