Plenty of Christmas cheer: Salling holds huge Christmas party this weekend

Plenty of fantastic Christmas atmosphere is on the way when Salling, in both Aarhus and Aalborg, kicks off the Christmas season this weekend, from the 4th to the 6th of November. Although the buildings will not be wrapped in their famous gift-like 300,000 fairy lights, this year, no one should miss out on this extraordinary Christmas experience.

There is something for young and old, from the first weekend in November until Christmas in Salling. In addition to exciting experiences and events, the magical Christmas windows will be revealed with this year’s new, detailed and creative LEGO universe. The window displays open on Friday 4th of November at 10 am.

Exclusive concert with Malte Ebert

Saturday, 5th of November, Salling invites all to a free concert where the Danish music icon, Malte Ebert, will sing Christmas in at Salling ROOFTOP. Malte Ebert, possibly better known by his alias, ‘Gulddreng’, got his first big break in 2016, when he shot to the top of the Danish charts with hits like “Model”, “Se mig nu” and “Guld jul”.

Since then, the sunglasses and gold chains have been left on the shelf, and Malte Ebert now goes by his own name. Of course, he still holds onto his humour, but his music now comes with a more personal touch. You can feel this in hits like “Rather be” and “Loyal”, which you’ll be able to hear live on top of the town on Saturday, 5th of November, at 13:00 in Aalborg and 16:00 in Aarhus. There is limited space for the concert, so Salling encourages everyone to come in good time.

Christmas music Bingo at Salling ROOFTOP

Christmas is the party season for the soul, and in Salling, you can participate in an atmospheric Christmas music bingo and see if your in luck to receive an early Christmas gift. Salling guaranteed that it will be a fantastic evening of Christmas music, fun initiatives, and lots of fabulous prizes! The event is free and will take place on Saturday, the 5th of November, at 13:00 in Salling Aarhus, and on Sunday, the 6th of November, at 14:00 in Salling Aalborg.

Opening of the magical Winter Lodge

In both Salling Aarhus and Salling Aalborg, you can take the trip all the way to the top floor and experience Fever-Trees’ magical Winter Lodge. The Winter Lodge bars offer tasteful gin & tonics and other Christmas-inspired cocktails that you can enjoy with a view out over the town and the beautiful winter sky.

Winter Lodge has it’s grand opening on Friday, 4th of November, which will be signified by a DJ and live percussion section and lots of Christmas cheer to kick off the Christmas season. From that day onwards, it is also possible to taste some Christmas delicacies when Salling ROOFTOP offers up warm, freshly-baked æbleskiver and a smorgasbord with all sorts of Christmas goodies.

Christmas Choir on Salling ROOFTOP

This Christmas weekend, Salling has many musical experiences on offer, and one of them is this incredible Christmas choir. The talented choirs from ing it! and NABLA will guest star in Aarhus and Aalborg, respectively, where they will spread Christmas cheer all over town with beautiful interpretations of well-known Christmas hymns. The Christmas choirs can be experienced on Sunday, the 6th of November at 13:00 in Salling Aalborg and 14:00 in Salling Aarhus.

Denmark’s largest Christmas catalog has hit the streets

There is no Christmas without Salling’s traditional Christmas catalog, that this year fills 328 pages with inspiration, gift ideas, and lots of Christmas cheer. The Christmas catalog will be on it’s way to postboxes around the country from the 4th of November – the same day, you can also pick up a copy in Salling, find it digitally on Salling.dk, and see it in the ClubSalling app.

Christmas in Salling since 1906

Ferdinand Salling opened the doors to his first department store in the heart of Aarhus in 1906, where he sold material by the meter. With the opening of another large department store in Aalborg in 1964, it became possible for those from Northern Jutland to experience the broad array of wares on sale too. For 116 years, Salling has greeted guests and customers with a warm welcome, a smile, and good humour.
