Rolling again: 15 km on roller-skates around Aalborg’s streets

by Shellie Boudreau

It was a huge success up until Corona wiped it all out.

But now, the popular Friday Night Skate is back for the first trip around Aalborg this Friday, August 27.

This Friday will be the first of three planned Friday events where hundreds from Aalborg will roll through the city’s streets.

On Friday, the event also coincides with the large event IDRÆTSMØDET (Sports Meet), which will fill the waterfront with sporting activities and events for three days.

You can read more about it here.

Rolling together

The friendly rolling skating community has flowed right into the hearts of those living in Aalborg. There is a massive interest to coast along with the rest of the group this coming Friday.

It all begins at Jomfru Ane Parken by the waterfront. You tighten your skates and join the flock and roll away with the group on the Aalborg route. Participation is free – so just show up!

From there, you can join in on a 15 km route through the central and roundabout parts of Aalborg city.

There is a break along the way where you can refresh your wheels with some fruit and drinks sponsored by Rema1000.

The weather forecast is looking mighty fine so there really is no reason not to join. So dust off those roller-skates and set yourself in motion.

Three dates are set

There are five Friday Night Skate arrangements this year.

These dates are:

Friday, August 27

The year 2013 marks the first Friday Night Skate in Aalborg and since then has become synonymous with summer.
